The sexual health of individuals is so important that a declaration in the summer of 1999 was made that sexual health be a basic right of all humans, by the 14th World Congress of Sexology. Below you will find the rights of sexual health that are stated in the declaration to be defended, promoted, and respected.
- The right to sexual privacy – Every individual has the right to their own sexual privacy.
- The right to sexual freedom – This gives people the freedom to fully express their own sexuality without the worry of abuse, coercion, and exploitation.
- The right to sexual pleasure – This right gives individuals the freedom to obtain healthy sexuality through intellect, psychological means, and through spiritual well-being.

- The right to sexual autonomy, sexual integrity, and the safety of the sexual body – This right allows all individuals to make their own decisions about sexuality based on their social ethics and personality.
- The right to emotional sexual expression – This gives people the right of expression of sexuality through emotional expression, communication, love, and touch.
- The right to sexual equity – Freedom from discrimination of sexual orientation, race, gender, age, religion, social class, and emotional disability.
