No one wants to admit that they aren’t doing everything possible to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases or unwanted pregnancies. Ignorance is never an acceptable excuse so regardless of your age you should take the time to seriously look at your actions and ask yourself if you are doing all you can to stay safe and prevent any surprises. It is suggested that trust plays a large role in the instance of sexually transmitted diseases. This is no longer just in relation to teens who are too easily persuaded by their partners without thought to the consequences. Adults too should take the proper precautions. In less than a decade the amount of sexually transmitted diseases has doubled for people over the age of 45. This may be because older adults are not as likely to use condoms.
